Dave Best

Hi Stillwater, my name is Dave Best, I have lived on Golden Maple for a little over 8 years with my wife of 50 years, Jody.

 

We were both involved with ice skating since we were 10 years old, though be it on opposite sides of the world, as I was born in England, and Jody, here in Michigan. I started with ice skating as an ice arena manager in the Detroit area and then at the Greater Muskegon Ice Arena on Airline Road. We loved West Michigan and stayed, eventually owning Chicago Hot Dogs in downtown Grand Haven and Grand River Art Gallery right across the street, along with other buildings and apartments in the same area, all of which we sold in the same year.

 

I thoroughly enjoy doing my handyman work in Stillwater, and to dispel any rumors, according to Michigan law, I can do any projects up to $600 without a license, and I am insured for over $2 million dollars. 

 

My vision for Stillwater is to have a large enough board that no-one is overworked and each member can fully concentrate on their particular field. 

 

Where residents can be proud to be on a committee, helping other residents.

 

A budget that is absolutely clear, understandable and kept reasonable.

 

Questions can be asked at anytime, about anything, and respectfully answered in a timely manner.

 

Maintenance work can be handled in minutes, not months and by dedicated knowledgable residents.
